This year we are adding some activities for the day, come out and participate, or be a fan and cheer your team on, or try you luck at the Home Run Derby.
One of the highlights this year will be the All Star Baseball Clinic, sponsored by St. Luke’s University Health Network and Justin Sheftel Memorial Fund. We will have “star” baseball players participating and local well known coaches and players from the Lehigh Valley. The clinic is for the middle and high school players, and free for players associated with a non-profit, school or Little League organization. For more information to sign up, and on the clinic see the tabs below:
We are bringing back the “Home Run Derby”, open to all. There will be 4 age groups, male and female, with prizes awarded to the best Home Run Hitter in their category. Charge is $5 for 7 pitches, included with each purchase you will have a chance to win a prize basket valued over $100. Lot of chances to win, and to have fun, contributing to a good cause.
For the Kiddies we have Tie Dying, Face Painting, Photo Booth, and watch for the Magicians as they walk around the tournament.
SUPPORTING OUR CHARITIES
We felt we have a perfect venue to provide some extra support to Allentown School District DRIVE program and to BikeWorks. We are asking you to clean out your garages, basements, and closets, to find old, used bikes and slightly used baseball equipment. The bikes will be refurbished and the baseball equipment used by the players.
This year the Sports Clinic, co-sponsored by St. Luke’s and Justin Sheftel Memorial Fund will be focused on baseball skills, with a Combine approach. For 90 minutes — starting at 12:30, participants will move thru the clinic stations. These stations are:
Station and Position Work
Pitching and Catching
Middle Infield – 1st and 3rd base
Sports Performance for Baseball
Steve Carlton 1984 Hall-of-Fame pitcher (Phillies) and four time Cy Young Award Winner, Mickey Morandini Phillies all-Star Second Baseman; Played on the World Series Phillies team, Patrick Donnelly Liberty High School and Lehigh University standout, and Tim Nieman DeSales University Head Baseball Coach will be part of the Clinic with other local baseball coaches and players.
There is a charge of $20 for the clinic, no charge for participants involved with a non profit, youth or sports organization. Fee is collected on site the day of event.

The Community Health Department of St. Luke’s University Health Network continues to strive to achieve its mission of partnering with the community to increase health awareness, improve the health status of the community and encourage appropriate access to health services. The Bethlehem Partnership for a Healthy Community<http://www.slhn.org/About/Community-Support/Bethlehem-Partnership-Healthy-Community> and St. Luke’s mobile health units have been the primary venues for achieving this mission.
Coming back this year — their eighth year Vinart, has been a true supporter of the tournament, with contacts, ideas, and brainstorming. We want to recognize all the support and hard work Hawk and ESPN Radio has done the past three years. They are co-sponsors with Vinart to provide the broadcasts to the Tournament. Their support goes much further than showing up at the tournament. They advertise for us, provide interview times during and before the tournament, generally support our efforts to reach into the community.
A big shout out to Mike Anthony, KJ Zabala, and Bob Holder, thank you for all that you have done and continue to do.
A longtime supporter and one who has been a true partner working with us to reinforce our message, Red Robin has been a sponsor of the Mocktail for 10 years. We have watched this event grow in popularity over the years, with their Mixologists now competing and making some very unique and tasty drinks. Come to their tent at 2:30 to sample some of the finest and tastiest non alcoholic drinks anywhere. See the Mocktail tab for more information on the Mixologists, their drinks and the judges. Keith Groller has kindly agreed to come and be the emcee again this year, he always adds some flair to the event.
This year we will award prizes to the Mocktail winner voted on by the judges, Mocktail winner voted on by the tournament participants, and we will pull one ticket from the Mocktail winner and that participant will also win a prize.
A big surprise for us was to have a chance to connect with Dave Chandler, President of Chandler Bats, the best manufacturer of wooden baseball and softball bats. Chandler Bats provided all the bats for the tournament and prizes for the Combine competition for 2015. Dave is not only generous, very supportive of our efforts, he also takes immense pride in his products and works hard to maintain a high degree of quality in each and every bat he makes. There was never a hesitation from Dave or his company to be part of the tournament, we are truly thankful. They also promised we would not break a bat, they were right, the bats did all the ‘talking’! For 2018 we again reached out to Dave for bats to use in the Home Run Derby, it was our intent to purchase, he would not consider it… once again his generosity was over the top. Truly appreciate.
We are very honored and grateful to have the Donnelly’s — Patrick ad Todd involved as sponsors this year with their two restaurants. Some information on these establishments…
