Saturday, September 23, 2023 The Club at Twin Lakes 7:30am Registration 9am Shotgun Start
The tournament will be a 4-person scramble format. Registration is due by September 10th and includes a cart, coffee, bagels, and a lunch buffet. There will be prizes for First Place, Closest to the Hole, and Longest Drive. Please arrive with enough time to check in and be ready to play.

Returning to the tournament for another special day, is the Sports Clinic, co-sponsored by St. Luke’s and Justin Sheftel Memorial Fund. The Clinic will be focused on baseball skills, with a combine approach; participants will move thru the clinic stations.
This year we are excited to be hosting Three Clinics. There will be a clinic for the middle and high school players, a separate clinic for the 4th and 5th grades, and a softball clinic for the girls, 5th to 8th graders. Space is limited for all three clinics. See below for information on how to sign up, times and the registration form to be completed.
Located at Lehigh County Sports Fields, 466 Parkway Road, Allentown. June 17th (rain date June 18th), starting at 12:30 for the middle and high school players for the two other clinics 1:00pm all clinics will end at 2:30pm. Registration by June 15th is required.
All three clinics, with include Pro and College Athletes, and a variety of High School Coaches and Athletes. The Baseball Clinics will feature Pro STEVE CARLTON, 1984 Hall-of-Fame Pitcher for the Phillies and four-time Cy Young Award Winner.
Two lucky players will walk away with a free Bike donated by Bike Works and more prizes!

June 2022:We are so grateful to all who turned out for Ladies Night. We enjoyed excellent appetizers from Randals, meeting the vendors and trying on or sampling the goodies. We also purchased herbs, flowers and decorative garden pieces to prepare for the Summer! All was fun and we appreciate the participation and support. Looking forward to next year!
We are excited to announce that for the fourth year, we will be hosting “Ladies Night” to benefit the Justin Sheftel Memorial Fund. Please join us on April 26th Wednesday from 5 pm to 7 pm at Randall’s for good food and meeting new and old friends. We will have several different shops including Ross Plant and Flowers, Boutique to Go, Truffle Bar, Makeup by Lauren Bennett and Hand Knitted Hats by Barb Deane. We will also have prizes throughout the evening. We ask for $50 donation in the form of either a gift card to a favorite restaurant or shop or an item that we can use in the Silent Auction at the Justin Sheftel Memorial Softball Tournament on June 17th. We will have access to Venmo at the event.

Creating one of a kind, hand-knit beanies and headbands…Hello there, it’s Barb Deane, let me introduce myself to some that may know me and others that may not. I have been involved with the Justin Sheftel Memorial Fund since the inception and have been honored to be a part of this amazing organization. I was inspired by my oldest son’s girlfriend who was a knitter, she gave me some encouraging words and some free patterns. I was looking for a way to get off my phone at night so I bought some needles, yarn and I started. I am a winter lover and wear beanies so thought I would give them a try and make a few for myself.
Well I was hooked!! I practiced for a year giving away most of the things I made and my friends were enjoying my new outlet. Christmas of 2021 came around and people were asking for special colors and using them as Christmas gifts so really that is how my business started. It’s been growing ever since and I feel very blessed that people are enjoying what I make. I started posting photos of my finished products on Facebook and Instagram and the rest is history. I enjoy trying new yarns and new patterns and seeing what people like wearing. I value handmade products and I see now that others also value them. This is good for all of us. WE are excited to be hosting the 19th annual softball tournament!
2020 is a year we will not readily forget. For everyone it presented challenges, required changes in how we navigate our environment, and some of us suffered personal losses.
We were forced to make a decision we hoped we would never have to make – canceling the Justin Sheftel Tournament three times, we did stay hopeful as long as we could. Finally in September we determined that we could not safely and responsibly hold the event.
We were able to hold the Tournament in 2021, with 18 teams, 16 men and 2 women. It was a day to enjoy, outside, seeing friends and family again, and playing ball! Due to the overwhelming support in 2020 we were able to support the scholarships and continue our level of donations to the non profits. For more information on our non – profits and the scholarship winners for 2023 with updates for all scholarship winners see link below.
The proceeds from the Tournament are used to cover any and all operational expenses we incur during the year and on the day of the Tournament. However, the sponsorship dollars are earmarked for the scholarship awards to Parkland and Allentown School District students and for contributions to local organizations that focus on providing athletic programs to our underserved youth in the greater Lehigh Valley.
